Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has signalled her intention to block Sky's proposed £1.6bn acquisition of ITV's media and entertainment arm. In a statement to MPs, she said she believed the merger might affect the availability of high-quality programming.
Nandy indicated she held concerns about the deal on competition grounds, suggesting she is considering using her powers to intervene in the transaction.
