The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The agreement aims to strengthen economic and trade relations, boost cooperation between private sector institutions, and expand business partnerships between the two countries, according to the chambers.
The memorandum covers several areas of collaboration. These include sharing economic data and trade information, identifying investment opportunities, facilitating direct contact between business owners, organising trade delegations, and participating in exhibitions and economic events. The two sides will also exchange expertise in foreign trade and export promotion.
The deal was signed during a meeting between Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a delegation from Uganda headed by Karamagi Alpha Charles. Both sides discussed potential cooperation in agriculture, agro-processing, tourism, mining, and science, technology, and innovation sectors.
The chambers plan to prepare a joint action plan to implement the agreement and have designated focal points at each organisation to oversee coordination. They will also exchange information about major economic exhibitions and events to enable business owners to explore participation opportunities and build direct trade relations.
