Unilever Nigeria Plc recorded revenue of 184.0 billion naira in the nine-month period ended 30 September 2026, up 18% from 155.4 billion naira in the same period of 2025, the company said in releasing its unaudited financial statement. Gross profit increased by 34% to 85.5 billion naira from 63.9 billion naira a year earlier, with gross margin improving to 46.4% from 41.2%. Operating profit rose by 27% to 38.5 billion naira, while net profit climbed 20% to 26.4 billion naira, compared with 21.9 billion naira in the corresponding nine-month period of 2025.
The company's board has approved an interim dividend of two naira per ordinary share, subject to applicable withholding tax, for shareholders on the register as at close of business on 30 October 2026. The total interim dividend payable amounts to 11.5 billion naira. Managing Director Tobi Adeniyi said the results reflected the underlying strength and resilience of the business despite consumer demand coming under increased pressure in the third quarter as household disposable incomes remained constrained. He added that the company stayed focused on delivering value, strengthening availability, executing relevant innovation and maintaining disciplined execution.
Adeniyi said the company continued to build a more balanced portfolio through sharper choices, accessible innovation and targeted brand investment to strengthen consumer preference and support sustainable, profitable growth. He added that the company remained confident in the long-term potential of Nigeria and was committed to investing responsibly in its brands, operations and people. The interim dividend payout means savers and investors holding shares in the company will receive income from their holdings, while the revenue growth signals continued consumer spending on packaged goods despite household budget pressures.
