Channel 4 shows come to Disney+ from early 2027

Disney+ will stream Channel 4's linear channel and on-demand content at no extra cost to subscribers in the UK and Ireland.

Channel 4 and Walt Disney Company have agreed to bring the British broadcaster's programming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland from early 2027. The deal will make Channel 4's linear HD channel available alongside scripted and unscripted on-demand content directly within the streaming service at no additional charge to existing Disney+ subscribers.

Multiple Channel 4 shows will be released on Disney+ simultaneously with their broadcast on the station. These include the drama Maya, featuring Bella Ramsey; the comedy Stepping Up, starring Denise Welch; and the reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, along with titles such as Big Mood, Tip Toe and 24 Hours In A&E. New Channel 4 shows will be added to the platform each year, with content available through a dedicated Channel 4-branded section on Disney+.

Priya Dogra, chief executive of Channel 4, said the partnership would give audiences additional ways to discover the broadcaster's output. "Channel 4 is home to some of the UK and Ireland's most talked about and trusted programming, and this new service will help those shows reach viewers in new places," Dogra said. She added that the collaboration demonstrated "how broadcasters and streamers can create more choice and value for audiences."

Adam Smith, chairman of direct-to-consumer at Disney Entertainment, described local broadcaster partnerships as important to building the company's content libraries. He said Channel 4's shows had "strong appeal to audiences in the UK and Ireland" and that the agreement reflected Disney's "global strategy, pairing high-quality local programming and cultural relevance with a complementary audience and more personalised streaming experience."

For viewers in the UK and Ireland, this means access to Channel 4's full linear service and growing on-demand library through Disney+ without extra cost, provided they hold an existing subscription.
