Tanzania pitches investment case at Bloomberg forum

Tanzania's planning minister met Bloomberg founder to explore partnership opportunities and promote the country as an investment destination.

Prof Kitila Mkumbo, Minister of State in the President's Office for Planning and Investment, met with Michael Bloomberg at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi, India. The discussion focused on strengthening ties with global economic stakeholders and identifying partnership opportunities to attract investment and support economic development.

Tanzania's attendance at the forum reflects the government's strategy, under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, to position itself as an attractive investment destination and expand economic cooperation. The country is pursuing Development Vision 2050, which aims to build a high-income, industrialised economy competitive in global markets, with a target of achieving a gross domestic product of one trillion US dollars by 2050.
