The liquidator of the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives (KUSCCO), Waithaka Ngaruiya, has directed borrowers to continue repaying their loans according to schedule. In a notice dated October 8, borrowers were told to keep making monthly payments through the bank accounts listed in their loan agreements with the cooperative. Meanwhile, KUSCCO's creditors have been asked to submit claims showing how much the cooperative owes them.
Ngaruiya warned that creditors who do not file proof of their debts could be excluded from any distributions made before their claims are verified. The liquidator was appointed through Gazette Notice No. 15270 dated September 23, 2026, under the Insolvency Act and the Co-operative Societies Act.
