Plus500 has upgraded its full-year sales and earnings guidance after revealing a sharp acceleration in customer acquisition during its third quarter. The FTSE 250 group said it attracted 28,747 new customers over the three months to September 30, representing growth of 27% compared with the same period a year earlier. Revenues climbed 11% to 203.2 million US dollars, equivalent to £152.2 million, while underlying earnings rose 7% to 88.4 million dollars or £66.2 million over the quarter.
The company said its full-year results would now exceed market expectations, citing "strong financial performance and meaningful strategic progress in the first nine months of 2026". Most analysts had previously forecast 2026 revenues of 837.6 million dollars, or £627.2 million, and earnings of 358 million dollars, or £268.1 million. David Zruia, the chief executive, said Plus500 had "delivered significant strategic and operational progress in the third quarter and throughout 2026" and that the group had "expanded our global reach and product suite, which continued to attract increasing numbers of higher-value customers".
The platform has pursued an aggressive strategy to broaden its offerings and geographic reach. It entered the prediction markets sector in February, followed by sporting events in June, capitalising on interest during the World Cup football tournament across the US, Mexico and Canada. Prediction markets enable traders to buy and sell shares tied to the outcome of real-world events, with sport being the most heavily traded category. The company also completed recent acquisitions of two broker-dealers in the US and Brazil.
Plus500 launched 24/5 trading on stocks and exchange-traded funds during the third quarter, and since the end of September has extended its capabilities to offer 24/7 trading on gold, silver, oil and natural gas. The group said these launches "broaden product choice, cater to evolving customer preferences and demonstrate Plus500's ability to deliver product innovation at scale". The company signalled it had additional product launches planned to drive further growth.
