Two co-operative societies in Kenya have been placed under liquidation, with creditors given 60 days to lodge any outstanding claims. The Commissioner for Co-operative Development appointed certified public accountant Benedict Abonyo Omollo as liquidator for both Kenton Kijabe Hill Co-operative Society Limited and Nitunze Sacco Society Limited through notices dated October 7, 2026. All property belonging to each society is now vested in the liquidator.
Creditors must submit details and supporting documents to the liquidator if their claims are not already recorded in the societies' books. Those who fail to submit claims within the deadline risk being excluded from any distributions made before their claims are verified.
