SAHCO wins Air Algeria ground handling deal

The Nigerian aviation services company will handle flights for the North African airline at Lagos and Abuja airports.

Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has secured a ground handling contract with Air Algeria for operations at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The company said the agreement represented another significant milestone in its growth and reflected the confidence international airlines place in its operational capabilities, service quality and commitment to global aviation standards.

Under the contract, SAHCO will provide full ground handling services to Air Algeria, drawing on its trained workforce, modern ground support equipment and operational expertise. The company said it would deliver services in line with international best practices. The partnership strengthens SAHCO's portfolio of international airline clients and its capacity to deliver consistent, high-quality ground handling services across multiple airport locations in Nigeria.

Barr. Taiwo Afolabi CON, Chairman of SAHCO Plc, said the company was delighted that Air Algerie had chosen it as a ground handling partner. He stated: "This confidence reflects our unwavering commitment to safety, operational efficiency and service excellence. We remain focused on delivering seamless ground handling solutions that meet the expectations of our airline partners and contribute to a superior passenger experience."

SAHCO operates at all commercially operated airports in Nigeria, giving it a distinctive advantage in the country's aviation ground handling industry. The company said it combines nationwide reach with a strong commitment to service consistency, reliability and operational excellence. SAHCO maintains internationally recognised certifications including ISAGO, RA3, ISO 9001, SON and ISO 27001, the company said. It has also invested in modern ground support equipment and technology, incorporating alternative power sources and environmentally conscious solutions.

The Air Algeria contract adds to SAHCO's growing portfolio of international airline partnerships. The company said it continues to invest in workforce development and modern equipment to meet the evolving needs of domestic and international airlines.
