The Development Bank of Nigeria said it is providing grants to small sanitation enterprises as part of a programme to help them access credit and expand their operations. The initiative involves 11 lenders that have created new financing products designed for the sector.
The DBN said the scheme has trained 328 enterprises so far. The programme is focused on removing the obstacles that typically prevent sanitation businesses from borrowing money and growing their customer base.
