London-listed businesses issued 65 profit warnings during the summer, the highest level in nearly two years, according to analysis from EY. The figure represented an increase from 59 warnings in the second quarter.
The jump in warnings reflects an energy shock driven by tensions in Iran, which has fuelled inflation and pressured business margins across the market.
