Unilever Nigeria Plc has declared an interim dividend of N2 per ordinary share, totalling N11.5 billion, following strong financial performance in the nine months to September 30. The company said it recorded revenue of N184 billion, up 18 percent from N155.4 billion in the same period of 2025, with gross profit jumping 34 percent to N85.5 billion from N63.9 billion. Net profit grew 20 percent to N26.4 billion compared with N21.9 billion a year earlier, the company said in its unaudited financial statement.
The company's board approved the interim dividend, which is subject to applicable withholding tax and payable to shareholders listed on the Register of Members as at the close of business on October 30. The dividend reflects the company's results and what it described as its continued commitment to delivering value to shareholders.
Managing director Tobi Adeniyi attributed the performance to strength and resilience in the business. He noted that consumer demand came under increased pressure in the third quarter as household disposable incomes remained constrained, but the company stayed focused on delivering value and strengthening availability. The company achieved consistent revenue growth, a 34 percent increase in gross profit, and 20 percent growth in net profit through what Adeniyi called sharp choices, accessible innovation and targeted brand investment.
Adeniyi said the company remains confident in Nigeria's long-term potential and is committed to investing responsibly in its brands, operations and people. The priority, he added, is to build on strong fundamentals, strengthen performance across the portfolio and create enduring value for consumers, customers, shareholders and the wider stakeholder community.
For investors holding Unilever Nigeria shares, the dividend payout signals the company's ability to generate and distribute profits despite challenging conditions affecting household purchasing power in the economy.
