Kenya Revenue Authority collected 90.05 billion shillings in customs revenue during September 2026, up 5.8 percent compared with 85.15 billion shillings in the same month the previous year, the authority said. The collections exceeded the Treasury target of 89.09 billion shillings by 965 million shillings, meaning the KRA achieved 101.1 percent of its goal.
Non-oil imports including fertilisers, iron, steel, palm oil and rice brought in 57.2 billion shillings, surpassing the target by 1.78 billion shillings. The number of imported motor vehicles and shipping containers both rose by around 8 percent, the KRA said. The authority described the results as evidence that effective customs administration helps both legitimate trade and government finances.
