Hyundai launches two new SUV models for Nigerian market

The Mufasa and Grand Creta join Hyundai's existing lineup as the automaker expands its SUV portfolio to meet local demand.

Hyundai Motors Nigeria has introduced two new SUV models, the all-new Hyundai Mufasa and Hyundai Grand Creta, as part of efforts to expand its vehicle offerings for Nigerian customers. The company said the launch marks another important milestone in providing mobility solutions tailored to the needs of Nigerian families, professionals and business executives.

The Hyundai Mufasa is a five-seater SUV with bold exterior styling, a distinctive front grille and muscular proportions. It is powered by a 2.0-litre Smartstream MPi petrol engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering approximately 150-160 PS of power and 193 Nm of torque. The vehicle measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and up to 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,680 mm wheelbase and a 54-litre fuel tank. Inside, it features a modern dashboard, digital display technology, touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control and wireless charging on selected variants. Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control, parking assistance and airbags.

The Grand Creta is a spacious seven-seater SUV designed for families needing additional passenger capacity and versatility. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre Smartstream petrol engine producing approximately 159 PS of power and 191 Nm of torque, also paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has a 2,760 mm wheelbase and offers flexible seating arrangements for up to seven occupants. The Grand Creta features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system on selected specifications, rear air-conditioning vents, keyless entry, push-button start and a digital instrument cluster on higher variants. Additional comfort options include leather-appointed seating, ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof. Safety equipment comprises six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.

Gaurav Vashisht, General Manager, Sales and Marketing at Hyundai Motors Nigeria, said the SUV segment continues to attract strong interest in Nigeria as customers prioritise comfort, safety, technology and versatility. He stated that the company's objective is to deliver a complete ownership experience supported by an authorised dealership network, professional after-sales services and genuine spare parts. The two new models complement Hyundai's existing SUV portfolio, which includes the Creta, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade.

For savers and borrowers in Nigeria seeking to purchase vehicles, the new models provide additional options in the SUV segment with varying sizes and price points to suit different family and business needs.
