Kenya Pipeline Company profit climbs 13 percent to 11.58bn shillings

The state-owned oil transporter delivered stronger earnings despite global energy market turbulence.

Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) reported net profit of Sh11.58 billion for the financial year 2026, up 13 percent from Sh10.24 billion the previous year, the company said. Revenue increased 9 percent to Sh43 billion from Sh39.5 billion, driven by a 7 percent rise in domestic and transit petroleum volumes.

The company generated Sh17.54 billion in profit before tax and Sh17.39 billion from operating activities, up 34 percent year-on-year, it said. Cash reserves jumped 84.4 percent to Sh20.54 billion by year-end. Acting Managing Director Pius Mwendwa credited the growth to higher revenue, improved operational efficiency and stronger cash generation, though global petroleum price swings and supply disruptions tied to Middle East tensions posed headwinds.
